HBC Kids
We welcome newborns up to Grade 5 to join us during the 10:00am Sunday service in our HBC Kids Ministry Programs!
Nursery
(up to 12 months)
Our nursery is located up the 5 step staircase from the foyer, immediately on the left. It is staffed so that you can leave your babies in the care of trustworthy volunteers. Nursery is available throughout the whole service and there is a private area available for moms to nurse their babies.
Mini Movers
(12-18 months)
Our mini movers room is located just up the 5 step stairs from the foyer, at the end of the hall on the right and is available throughout the whole service.
Toddlers
(18 mos to 3 yrs)
Toddlers is available throughout the whole service and is located downstairs on our lower floor, it is the last room on the left side down the hall. Toddlers will play together, read short Bible stories and listen to bible songs.
Preschool
(3 to 4 years)
Preschoolers will start in the church service and are dismissed to their class after worship/before the sermon starts. We will work on building the basic foundations of the Bible through songs and stories.
Jr & Sr Church
(SK - Grade 5)
Children will start in the regular service and then are dismissed to their classrooms after worship/before the sermon starts. They will participate in music, activities and Bible lessons focusing on building a strong foundation upon Christ.
Safety First!
Communicating the gospel to children at HBC is our passion, but ensuring the safety of the little ones in our care and those who serve them is our priority.
With this in mind, here are a few things you should know about how we plan to protect:
Green Lanyards:
All of our volunteers in HBC Kids will be wearing a green lanyard when they are serving your children. This green lanyard means that the volunteer is an approved member of HBC and has passed all our church volunteer requirements. In addition to this, it includes their name and picture on it, so that you can get to know the people who are serving your kids!
Pagers for Parents
HBC Kids offers pagers for parents of children aged 0 - 4 years. Pagers are given out to parents at drop off so we can let you know if your child requires you, whether for changing diapers, comfort or any other needs. Remember to keep it nearby so you can hear it buzz!
Safety in Numbers
As part of the protection policies at HBC, all rooms will have a minimum of 2 volunteers at all times. We also have a certain ratio of children to volunteers for each age group. Should the numbers exceed the ratio, more volunteers will be brought in or we may redirect your child to an appropriate alternate age group for that service.
Here are those ratios:
Nursery - 2 volunteers: 6 children
Mini Movers - 2:8
Toddlers - 2:12
Preschool - 2:14
Jr Class - 2:16
Sr Class - 2:18
